Ghost in the…… shell!!

Ghost in the shell if you do not know about it already is a manga which was later turned into a film in 1995 and then again in 2004.

The reason i say this is because today i am going to reviewing Ghost in the shell: stand alone complex Vol. 01.

Storyline 10/10

 This first volume comes with a solid and seamless stories such as the first episode, where Geisha’s took hostage the foreign affaires minister only to find out that his brain was swapped with a spy’s thus causing the minister to have completely changed and also to want to defect to America to give Japanese military secrets to the US, this first episode lays solid foundations for the direction in which this futuristic cop drama is headed.

Animation 8/10

The animation in this series is better and more clear than any American animated series i have ever watched, and for this reason i give it 8/10, i do not give it full marks though due to the fact that the animation is somewhat more simplistic than either of the Ghost in the shell films, which is a small let down.

value for money?

This depends on where you get your copy of this DVD, the best place to buy your copy would be HMV.com, as it is on sale there for around £5.99, the worst place though i have found is Virgin, as it could cost you up to £19.99, which i feel is a rip off.

Overall 9/10

The first volume to this overall gripping series, is a great introduction to the series and also does not put new comers of the franchise in a position where they do not know what the hell is happening or who everyone is, if you are a fan of Ghost in the shell or just interested in Manga or Anime, this is worth checking out.

My second topic of the day is to rant about HMV the shop itself as i have had a few bad experiances there.

HMV keeps asking for ID off you which totally bugger’s you if you have none on you and this is surely eating into their profits as no other shop is as nuts about ID as HMV. I really hope the HMV where ever you are is as stuanch on ID as the one in my local area is…….

ORANGE COLA!!!!!!!!

Today I had my first ever Cola with an Orange flavouring, which was fittingly called Coca Cola with Orange.

Where did i buy it?

Well i found this little drink down at my local Morrisons as the British isles have been deprived of it for so long and also my good friend Phil has been deprived of it, so i thought  i should try it.

What did it taste like?

It tasted like Fanta (which is coincidently also made buy the coca cola company) with a much bigger burst of sugar with a small taste of coca cola as you begin to swallow it.

Should I buy it?

Buy it just to try it and then make your mind up if you like it or not, but this cola spin off has managed to fool us allo into thinking “no it’s not Fanta, it’s Orange cola”, and for that i have to mark it down.

Whats the score out of 10?

6/10

due to the fact it is just like Fanta, but they have tried to wow us with new colour orange packaging which will be able to amuse some Coke collectors, otherwise it is just another average coke spin off.

Sonic Madness!!

I decided that by lunch time today that i had gotten depressed due to overexposure to sonic the hedgehog.

Silly you say, well it is not. As i scrolled down the game selection list on Sonic gems i suddenly felt a sense of hopelessness as i realised my fears had come true, sonic gems is taking forever to complete.

I have got so board of it i gave up playing Tails skypatrol as i could not get off the training level and decided to try Tails Adventure which is marginally easier i guess.

Most evil sonic game ever, i always new Tails had a deep dark secret that he didn’t want anyone to know about and this game is it. He try to keep it in Japan only for, see there is truth in my case!!

This guy shares my thought on this otherwise pointless game.

Anyway i have some better news as it is raining i went out and went to the local library, oh what fun it was there was one old person who kept falling asleep in the chair read a book which was quite humourous, and then i went back home to my game sysytems and played the pointless game of Tails adventure.

E3 NEWS

 Ah yes that time of year again when we see the scary guy from nintendo, good ol’ Reggie

Good ol’ Reggie you can’t have a Nintendo press conference without this guy, it just wouldn’t work with out this bodyguard looking dude.

Also metal gear solid 4 trailer has been release and it is starting to look like the best Metal gear ever, all i have to say is….. FOXDIE!!!!

The Wii though i have been most wrong about, i condemned it and made it out to be the work of the gaming devil, but in actual fact it proved me wrong, with new games coming out on it such as Metroid prime 3: Corruption and good old Mario’s coming back with mario galaxy.

Your probably wondering when am i gonna talk about Xbox 360…… well i’m not, and i will tell u why i hate Xbox i will kill Xbox i hope Xbox will be the disaster this time round like the Gamecube was last time.

The Misfits….. No! Not the band!!

I wake up this morning to a day filled with vast ideas on what to do with my day, until i decide to do what i do everyday, which is to watch don’t get done get Dom at quarter past 9, followed by some gaming and i think you can get the slow monotinous jist of my usual day.

 Now moving topics to the reason for today’s title, which is a funny story as yesterday i was struggling for reading material until i went into my dusty comic book archives and found a three part comic adventure from the Batman: shadow of the bat series which was entitled the Misfits and so i got to work on reading it. At first glance it seemed like an over the top Batman adventure with the likes of Catman and Killer moth. I thought to myself that Batman had suddenly reverted back to the old 60’s campness and still as i go onto the second issue i am not convinced.

• I have completed Sonic CD to see a great 3min cartoon cutscene, i feel all the stress was worth it.

Computer Chaos

As this is the first blog i feel the need to welcome you and to say Hi…..

Anyway today was a truly “amazing day”….

i went to Barry, one of the, and no it was not a social visit, it was due to the fact that on saturday night the computer died, anyway the computer was in a sorry state and needing some medical attention, so we went to the computer repair shop. After 20 mins of some weird guy looking at it he found the video board had died and thus i cannot play 3D games on my lovely computer any longer unless i buy a new one for £75….. no chance that will ever happen.

Anyways my computer is now fixed and i can go on places such as wikipedia and You tube again……. WOOT!!!!
